Have you ever wanted to try podcasting, social media, journalism or website design but weren’t sure where to start?
The Reaching Out vocational pathways programme has been created to help young people gain practical experience, develop confidence and explore new career interests in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Working alongside experienced mentors and professionals, participants can learn real-world skills whilst contributing to projects that support the Reach community.
Opportunities available now
We are currently recruiting for a range of exciting pathways including:
Social media
Learn how to create content, grow audiences, produce videos and support charity campaigns across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other platforms.
Podcasting
Develop skills in planning, recording, presenting and editing podcasts whilst helping to create content that informs and inspires the Reach community.
Editorial and journalism
Work alongside the editor of Within Reach magazine, helping to research stories, interview contributors and create content for publication.
Websites and digital design
Gain experience working with Cosmic’s web team, supporting website content, accessibility reviews, graphic design and digital projects.

We are particularly keen to hear from young people interested in:
- Presenter training for the 18-25 Annual Family Weekend programme
- Technical support roles for Reaching Out on Tour
- Content creation for the Within Reach website and blog
These opportunities offer hands-on experience whilst helping Reach continue to grow and support the wider community.
No experience? No problem
You do not need formal qualifications or previous work experience to get involved.
We are looking for people who are:

Support, mentoring and training will be provided throughout the programme.
