I joined Reach in 2017 after our son was born with an upper limb difference. From the moment we connected with the charity, Reach became a lifeline, offering community, reassurance, and a space where our son could grow up surrounded by role models. Being part of Reach has helped us celebrate difference, build confidence, and feel part of something incredibly positive and empowering.
I’m a Senior Paediatric Nurse with a passion for supporting families early and improving the journey for children and parents navigating challenging times. These passions naturally align with what Reach stands for: helping families and young people with upper limb difference connect, learn, and support each other from birth through to adulthood.
In recent years, I became involved in shaping and developing the Reach Liaison Nurse role, designed to better connect healthcare, early support, and the limb difference community. I am now proud to be the first Reach Liaison Nurse for the year-long pilot project. My focus is on how we support families from the earliest moments of diagnosis, ensuring they have access to consistent, compassionate guidance and creating smoother pathways between clinical teams, professional education, community support, and Reach. This will be achieved through a national survey, professional learning, and strengthened links between services.
I am a mum to two wonderful boys who keep life full of fun, noise, and adventure. When we’re not juggling school runs or sports kits, you can usually find us exploring the countryside with our dogs, making the most of being outdoors as a family.
Reach has been part of our family’s story for many years, and I’m honoured to play a small part in helping the charity grow and continue supporting children and young people to live boldly, confidently, and without limits.
