Reach are so thankful for the generosity and kindness of our community, especially during times of loss. There are many ways you are doing this including direct donations; with the help of a funeral director’s own online service or with the help of a funeral director through the MuchLoved platform; or via JustGiving. Every in memory donation creates a legacy and helps shore up Reach for the future.
Several families of our members and volunteers have chosen to make donations in memory of their loved ones through the MuchLoved platform.
Simon’s story
One family who gifted to Reach via MuchLoved and we would like to thank is the Websters. Simon kindly shared their story with us:
Pam Webster died peacefully at the age of 93. I am pleased to say that we recently raised over £1,300 for Reach in her memory. Following the birth of her granddaughter Anna in 1999, Pam and the wider Webster family became closely involved with Reach, raising funds over many years. The family remain deeply grateful to the Reach community for the kindness, help and support given, particularly in those early years. Pam had a lifelong love of quilt making and created many beautiful pieces. One of her quilts was raffled at a Reach family dinner, something that gave her great pleasure and reflected her quiet generosity and commitment to the Reach family.
About MuchLoved
Tribute pages can be set up directly by you free of charge via MuchLoved.com, or by your Funeral Director who uses MuchLoved. Funeral directors can help by easily creating the tribute page for you, and include on the tribute the practical funeral details and information. This can be the maps of the funeral and wake locations, an uploaded PDF of the Order of service, any funeral live streaming information for those who might not be able to attend the funeral in person etc.
A MuchLoved tribute is a personal space to remember someone. There are lots of non-monetary functions on a tribute page, and many people simply do just this, adding photos, stories, memories, and more. However, there is often a strong wish to donate to charity or good cause in-memory of a loved one, initially at the time of the funeral in lieu of flowers, or going forwards hosting an event or donating at the time of an anniversary. You can let the funeral director know which UK charity/charities or good cause/s you would like to support and this can be added to the tribute page for online donations.
The tribute remains as a lasting memorial, with no cost to maintain.
