Reach Charity Golf Day

Sunday 25th October 2026

Inaugural Reach Charity Golf Day
Join us for a brilliant day of golf, fundraising and Reach community spirit.

Get ready to tee off for Reach’s first ever Charity Golf Day, taking place at Marriott Worsley Park on Sunday 25 October.

This will be a competitive golf day bringing together golfers from across the Reach community and beyond for a fantastic day on the course in support of Reach’s 50th anniversary in 2028.

Organised with the support of The Society of One Armed Golfers, the day will combine competitive golf, fundraising and Reach community spirit, with prizes, on-course challenges and opportunities for families and supporters to get involved even if they are not playing. Golf coaching for Reach children will also form part of the weekend, helping younger members try the sport, build confidence and be inspired by golfers with lived experience of Upper Limb Difference. You don’t need to have an Upper Limb Difference to enter!

About Reach

Reach is the leading UK charity for children and young people with Upper Limb Difference and their families. For almost 50 years, Reach has helped families find information, confidence, practical support and a community that understands.

Every child with Upper Limb Difference (ULD) should grow up knowing they are not alone, and that their difference does not define what they can do. Through family weekends, activity days, mentoring, resources and peer support, Reach helps children and young people build confidence, develop independence and see what is possible.

On the day, the event will also visibly reflect Reach’s mission by bringing golf and inclusive sport to Reach children through coaching, family involvement and opportunities to see top golfers with an ULD in action.

Not a golfer?
You can still be part of the day.

Come along, walk a few holes with a group, enjoy the atmosphere and support the players as they take on the course for Reach.

This is not just a golf competition. It is a chance for the Reach community to come together, celebrate possibility and support the next generation of Reach children and families.

Golf coaching for Reach children
As part of the weekend, we will also be offering golf coaching for Reach children and their siblings.

Coaching will take place with Darren Grey, PGA Professional and two-time One-Arm World Champion, on Saturday 24 October, and with Aimi Bullock from Sport for All on Sunday 25 October.

Sport for All works to support disabled people to access sport and physical activity, with a vision of breaking down barriers so sport is accessible and inclusive. Sport for All will also be exhibiting on Saturday 24 October as part of the Reach Annual Family Weekend. Find out about Sport for All’s golf project for children with limb difference here.

Sign-up for coaching will be available closer to the event.

Meet Darren Grey

Darren Grey is a PGA Professional, two-time One-Arm World Champion and international golfer who has represented Europe and England. We are delighted Darren will be playing in the Reach Charity Golf Day.

Born without the lower part of his left arm, Darren learned from a young age to adapt. In golf, that meant developing a one-arm swing built on balance, timing and body control.

Before golf, Darren competed in swimming at a high level and also had success in Taekwondo. Those experiences helped shape the discipline, resilience and mindset he brings to both competition and coaching.

Alongside competing, Darren coaches golfers of all abilities, helping them improve through a realistic, step-by-step approach. Darren is also looking forward to being involved with Reach, a charity that helped him realise that anything is possible.

As Darren says, everyone faces challenges. His just happens to be visible. The approach is the same: focus on your strengths, keep working and keep moving forward.
