Cycling Around Iceland - June 2010

"Do you fancy doing a charity bike ride that's a bit more extreme than the London to Brighton?" Peter Downey asked Nick Strugnell after a glass or two one day.

"How about Iceland?" Nick eventually came up with.

So that is what they are planning to do to raise funds for Reach. Come on folks show them we appreciate their efforts and help them to get sponsors.

The conversation went a little further "What's the weather like and how far is it?" Pete asked casually. Rather too precisely Nick replied "845 miles and if we're lucky it might hit 18 degrees c."

"If we're not?" Pete said less casually.

"Horizontal rain, the chance of snow in the North and wind you wouldn't believe"

The boys are back safe and well. Quote from Pete today "Well we did it, we arrived back in the UK last Saturday evening. It was definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done on a bike but I’m enjoying the sense of achievement now." If you'd like to see a clip of them cycling through the ash cloud -UTUBE clip

Raise £20.10 for 2010

8th MAY 2010

The May Ball is an exciting Black Tie Summer Event taking place on the 8th May 2010. The event is being organised by Sian Brooks in order to raise money for Reach - The Association for Children with Upper Limb Deficiency. Sian Brooks is a hardworking, charismatic and vivacious trustee for Reach and The May Ball is set to be a great night as well as a valuable fundraiser...we all hope it will become a permanent feature in the calendar each year!

Visit the amazing ruins of Machu Picchu, left undiscovered within the thick jungle for many centuries.

Hike through the remote and rarely visited Lares Valley where you will meet local communities and experience life in the Andes.
