Each year we take a group of 40- 60 children who all have hand or arm disability for a confidence building activity holiday. Here they tackle climbing, sailing abseiling, canoeing and many other activities to help them realize just how much they can achieve despite their 'difference'. All the helpers on this activity week are adults who themselves have a limb deficiency so there is also the opportunity to share ideas, solutions, thoughts and concerns with peers that truly understand. We find this week is a fantastic opportunity to build their confidence and independence, as they don’t have well meaning parents or sibling to rely on for the week. In order to make it easier for everyone to have the opportunity to attend we organize coach travel for the children. With the ever increasing fuel costs this alone can be a huge expense.
