Beth's First Flight

Beth and her dad Terry  -  along with other REACH families - attended a 'Flying Day' at Hawarden Airport (Airbus Broughton), Chester, as guests of an Aviation Without Borders' Smiling Wings Day.

Terry has  written up a full account of it, with photographs embedded (copyright Airbus UK), under the title First Flight. a version of this appeared in Within Reach entitled REACH for the Sky! .

In any event, the photographs are good, don't you think. I particularly like the photo of our pilot Dr Mark Edworthy (a stunt pilot!) and Beth (his co-pilot for the flight), and the one of Beth at the controls (the yoke) banking the aircraft to starboard as I hold on tight - apprehensive with fright - at the back.

The whole idea of submitting the article is for Within REACH readers to be encouraged to 'GO for it! REACH for the SKY!' if they receive an invitation from Sue to attend a 'Flying Day', just as Beth and I did. It really was great. It was brilliant. It's just that I'd like to share the excitement of the flight.
